WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT CLIMATE 911
I was a District Health Director (in the Virginia Department of Health) for almost 30 years- and intermittently an acting State Health Commissioner, acting Deputy State Health Commissioner, and acting Deputy for Emergency Preparedness. I've lectured to the medical students and in the Schools Master's of Public Health program for years. Your talk is terrific, and with your permission, I'd like to be able to use either the entire talk or parts of it. Bill Nelson, Richmond, VA
I was quite impressed with Dr Ring's presentation and encourage you to take advantage of it if at all possible. Shortly into her presentation I began to feel quite viscerally why Leiserowitz and others say that focusing on the health impacts of climate change reaches people. I'm used to thinking about climate change in terms of big disasters, but the senselessness and immediacy of making ourselves sick with it just hit me in the gut. She built audience participation and used language that is accessible to lay people. It was the best thing I've seen on health impacts. Madeleine Para Madison, WI
Your conference call made quite an impression. I'm wanting to help you present your info to the new Congress ASAP. Thanks for making the difference you do and so beautifully using your talents and passion to further the conversation of what's possible and what's so.
Paul Thompson Minneapolis, MN
It inspired me to speak up about climate change and public health risks at our town plan public forum this week. Laura Asermily Middlebury, VT
What you said was brilliantly presented and I can speak for us all when I say that we were in awe of the depth of your knowledge, the fluency of your presentation and the fact that you were able, after such a short time in our country, to apply it to our situation in so many ways. David Paris, Green Party New Zealand
We continue to get positive feedback about your presentation (8 months later).
